Get to Know Me

My Background and Approach

My experience comes from various schools of thought, through a multicultural lens that includes Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Treatment utilizing a strengths-based approach.

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of California and a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York. I received my Master's of Arts in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University in California and have extensive training in crisis intervention and trauma treatment working with Victims of Crime, various community mental health agencies, within and private practice.

I explore situations in the here and now in order to provide a listening ear to understand your needs. My experience includes working with women's issues, high performers, relationships, crisis intervention, trauma focused treatment, anxiety, depression, mindfulness, substance abuse, and parenting. My areas of expertise include exploring trauma and understanding how that impacts current decisions and interpersonal relationships.

My work aims to understand the underlying concerns that are causing stressful situations and mal-adaptive behaviors. Through active listening, approaching things with empathy, and from a non-judgmental standpoint, my hope is that we can work together to help create trust within the therapeutic relationship. The experiences that I have gained volunteering on the Suicide Prevention Hotline, various shelters in Los Angeles including the Downtown Women's Shelter, and my experience within community/mental health allow me to offer various perspectives to your personal experience.

Services I Offer:

Personalized Treatment Catered to your Unique Therapeutic Needs

Individual Psychotherapy - Children/Teens/Adults (In-Home)

We all experience a little depression or a little anxiety within our life. It's normal to have these feelings...but when these feelings are so intense that they start impacting the way that we are living our lives, this is where therapy can help. While stressors can be present due to traumatic experiences that we have gone through, they don't have to live with us forever. Exploring them from an empathetic standpoint can help us feel guided and heard through the therapeutic process of healing.

I use various evidence-based practices and modalities based on the needs. While EMDR is my first therapeutic approach, I pair it with talk therapy and bring in mindfulness, CBT, and the body to help reprocess your experience.

Please note: EMDR may not be appropriate for everyone and this will be further explored to determine the best therapeutic approach for you.

Victims of Crime

I work directly with CalVCB - California Victims of Crime. The California Victim Compensation Board is a state program dedicated to providing reimbursement for many crime-related expenses to eligible victims who suffer physical injury or the threat of physical injury as a direct result of a violent crime.

I utilize trauma focused treatment (TF-CBT) and EMDR to help us reprocess complex trauma due to a violent crime. My aim is to provide a safe environment that allows us to thrive despite the trauma that was experienced.

Parent Coaching

I enjoy working with parents to create a parenting program focusing on the current unique needs and circumstances. Within my approach, I utilize evidence-based positive parenting strategies that equip parents with the skills to tackle problematic behaviors that their children are displaying. Collaborating together allows us to approach each circumstance in a focused and unique way.

Online/Tele-health Psychotherapy

I am committed to decreasing the barriers to access through online/tele-health psychotherapy. While online therapy can seem intimidating to some, I create an environment that allows us to feel as though we are in an in-person setting. I use secure software that makes online sessions very easy to access.

Within online/tele-health psychotherapy, I am able to implement all treatment models and tailor them within the online approach.
